£8.25 per hour

Alder House Care Home located in Nuthall, Nottinghamshire are currently recruiting for dedicated and motivational team players to join us as Head Housekeeper. As Head Housekeeper you will oversee the housekeeping and laundry service in support of our overall hotel services function, ensuring a high-quality and comprehensive care service is maintained and delivered to residents.

The role will require you to work shifts on a rota to include weekends.

The key responsibilities of our Head Housekeepers include:

  • Preparing orders for all cleaning materials with approved suppliers complying with procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels and control, ensuring good quality products are purchased within agreed budget limits, obtaining Home Manager approval.
  • Preparing staff duty rotas for domestic and laundry duties, subject to Home Managers approval.
  • Supervising and directing the work of other domestic staff, providing instruction and demonstration to new staff on cleaning tasks and materials, ensuring that all cleaning duties undertaken by you or assigned domestic staff are carried out in accordance with worksheet instructions including:
    • vacuuming, carpet shampooing  and washing floor areas stairs and lifts.
    • cleaning toilets, baths and washbasins, providing adequate supplies of toilet rolls, soap and hand towels.
    • cleaning windows, paintwork and walls.
    • thoroughly cleaning of vacated rooms ready for re-occupation.
    • removal of rubbish and clinical waste to storage area ready for collection by the appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure that all domestic staff understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, providing training as required to ensure that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues.
