44 hours per week- shifts on a rota basis to suit the needs of the service

£10.00 per hour

We have an exciting new opportunity at Birchwood Grange Care Home located in Harrow to join our team as a Well-being and Activities Co-Ordinator.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to support the provision of a high quality programme of activities and events, encouraging residents to maintain and develop their optimal potential for independent living and enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. This includes activities and events inside and outside of the home, therefore, good communication skills within the local community will be necessary. An exciting and stimulating timetable is not only vital to our resident’s well-being, but also contributes to maintaining the home's current overall CQC 'Outstanding' rating.

You will also be responsible for the rota of the well being team as well as managing the team, the monthly activity plans and monthly news letters.

A full UK driving license will be required. 

The key responsibilities of Well-being and Activities Co-Ordinator include:

  • Identify the needs of residents through reading and contributing to individual life stories and care plans.
  • Document participation, experience, and document activity information in residents’ care plans.
  • Support activities, events, and outings, encouraging relatives and visitors to be involved.
  • Contribute to a balance of large group, small group and individual activities.
  • Assist with in-house amenities and the provision of services from organisations in the home.
  • Assist with building links with the local community (e.g. schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries).
  • To be involved in supporting marketing & fundraising initiatives.
  • Being IT and social media literate.
  • Holding resident forum meetings for a whole home approach.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues.

Birchwood Grange have a unique quality right in their back garden; we are home to chickens which as part of the well-being team, will also be your responsibility to help our animal loving residents to care for them.
